How Long Does It Take to Build a Small Business Website?

4 min readOctober 2026By Ivan Albornoz

Short answer: about 5 days for a one-page site and 5 to 10 days for a five-page site, counted from when you approve the design. Here's what happens in between and what slows things down.

A small business website takes about 5 days for a one-page site and 5 to 10 days for a five-page site, counted from the day you approve the design. Most agencies quote two to three months. The difference comes from how the work is done, not from cutting corners.

Here's what happens in those days, and the few things that stretch the timeline.

The four steps

  1. A free 30-minute call. We talk about your business, what you sell and who calls you.
  2. A design mockup. You see what the site will look like and tell me what to change.
  3. Build and test. I build it, check it on phones and computers, and fix what I find.
  4. Launch. The site goes live and gets submitted to Google.

The clock for the 5 days starts when you approve the design in step two. The call and the mockup come first and move at the speed of your schedule.

What a small business website timeline looks like in real life

Issan Cleaning Co., a cleaning company serving Miami and Broward, went live in 5 days. They had their services and photos ready, answered questions the same day, and approved the design quickly. You can see the result on the portfolio page.

That's the fast end. It's what happens when nobody is waiting on anybody.

What slows it down

Almost every delay is waiting for something from the business, not for the build.

  • Photos and text that are still being tracked down.
  • Feedback that takes a week to come back.
  • More pages than planned. Past five pages, or if you add a store, booking or logins, it becomes a custom project with its own timeline.
  • A bilingual site, because every translated page counts as another page.

Say you run a landscaping company in Coconut Creek. If you send your logo, a dozen job photos and a short list of services on day one, the build moves fast. If the photos are on a phone you can't find, the site waits.

Why it can be this fast

I work alone, so there's no hand-off between an account manager, a designer and a developer. Modern tools handle the busywork, and every detail still gets my eyes before launch. That's where the weeks go at larger agencies: meetings, approvals and queues.

It also means the person you talk to on the first call is the person building your site. When you have a question on day three, you ask me directly.

How to make it faster

Before the call, gather your logo, your best photos, a list of what you offer and the areas you serve. Decide who approves the design so it doesn't get stuck between two people.

Keep your revisions for what matters. A Starter site includes one round and a Professional site includes two, so batch your feedback into one clear list instead of sending it a piece at a time.

Prices and timelines are flat and agreed upfront: $299 for a Starter site and $799 for a Professional one, with half to start and half before launch.
