A small business website in South Florida costs anywhere from $299 to well over $5,000. That's a huge gap, and it exists because "website" can mean a one-page site that gets your phone ringing or a custom build with a booking system and a project manager. Most service businesses only need the first one.
Here's what the price actually buys, what pushes it up, and the questions to ask before you say yes to any quote.
What my websites cost
I can only speak for my own prices, so here they are. They're flat. No hourly rate and no surprise invoice.
- Starter, $299 one-time: one page, custom design, mobile-friendly, a contact form, a Google Maps embed and one round of revisions.
- Professional, $799 one-time: up to five pages, local SEO setup, Google Business Profile setup, a photo gallery and two rounds of revisions.
If you want someone to keep the site healthy after launch, the Care Plan is $59 a month. It covers security updates, two content updates a month, uptime monitoring and a monthly report. It's optional.
Half is due to start and half before launch. The full breakdown is on the services page.
What pushes the price up
Page count is the biggest lever. Past five pages, or if you need an online store, booking or customer logins, it becomes a custom quote because that's real extra work. A bilingual site counts every translated page too, so a three-page site in English and Spanish counts as six.
Content matters as well. If you already have photos and text, a Professional site takes about 5 to 10 days. If those are still being tracked down, the timeline stretches with them.
The costs people forget
Hosting runs about $0 to $15 a month, and a domain name runs about $12 to $20 a year. Ask every agency whether those are included and, more important, whose name they're registered in. If the agency owns your domain, you're renting your own business address.
With me, hosting and the domain stay in your name. You own the code and the content too, so if you ever want to leave, you take everything with you.
Why agencies charge so much more
Most agencies take two to three months and start around $5,000. Their price covers account managers, an office and a process built for bigger clients.
Say you run a plumbing company in Pembroke Pines and you need five pages that explain your services and get people to call. You don't need a six-week discovery phase. I work alone and use modern tools for the busywork, so that saving shows up on your invoice. Issan Cleaning Co., which serves Miami and Broward, went live in 5 days. You can see it on the portfolio page.
Questions to ask before you sign a quote
- Who owns the website and the domain when it's done?
- How many rounds of revisions are included, and what do extra ones cost?
- How long will it take, and what do you need from me to hit that date?
- What happens after launch if something breaks?
Anyone who promises you a number-one Google ranking is guessing, so walk away from that quote too.
The honest range is $299 for one solid page, $799 for a proper five-page site, and a custom quote past that. Start with the smallest site that does the job. Adding pages later is easy.
